Stone art is so much fun, but it can be a messy process. Here’s a clean way to decorate stones with flower designs. With POSCA paint markers you can avoid the mess by using your pens to write directly on the rocks.
The paint markers work effortlessly over the pebbles. The great thing is you don’t have to faff about with pots and paints. And of course you can blend your POSCAs while they are wet and overlay the markers when they are dry, allowing for a wealth of possibilities.
Easy Easter project
We’ve used POSCA paint markers in new deep colours to create a lovely little stoney spring scene of flowers. POSCA deep colours are great for spring projects and a great alternative to pastels for Easter. And you don’t have to be an amazing artiste to whip up these seasonal stone designs. In fact, this project is great for kids as it’s so easy to accomplish.

Decorate stones with flower designs, step 1
Select your favourite colour from your POSCA deep colour set and use it to create a base colour on your stone. Leave it to dry. Once it is completely dry, select a contrasting deep POSCA to your background to decorate stones with flower designs.
To create your stone rose, draw little dashes to create a centre. Add larger marks around the central lines and use them as markers to create curved shapes. Then use this technique to layer of shapes around each other until you are happy with the motif.
Step 2, paint a pebble with POSCA
Use your English Green Deep POSCA to draw leaves around your rose design and colour in.

Use another contrasting POSCA colour from your set to draw in star flowers. Do this by drawing a dot at the top, connect two dots at the bottom and add another two dots either side of the top.
Step 4, paint a pebble with POSCA
Now add highlights and definitions with your Ivory and Deep Grey POSCAs and give your star flowers a centre.
Enjoy and experiment with POSCA Deep colours
You can use different POSCA deep colour combinations to create you stone roses. You could even paint your pebbles with POSCA with spring flower designs such as tulips and daffodils to create a sprig stone flower garden. Have fun and enjoy!
